Central Carrollton Association
The CCA Neighborhood is comprised of the 74 city blocks bound by South Carrollton Avenue, South Claiborne Avenue, Broadway, and Willow Street in the Carrollton section of the City of New Orleans. (Map)

CCA is a founding member of CAN (Carrollton Area Network) established to galvanize the efforts of neighborhood interests along the critical South Carrollton Avenue corridor. Our efforts concentrate on infrastructure improvements; illegal criminal activity; land use, zoning and other city ordinance violations; and blighted properties or structures. Additionally, the CCA seeks to proactively conduct select projects to improve the conditions of our neighborhood. Examples include the planting of trees, the cleaning of the two neighborhood cemeteries, and the establishment of neighborhood watch programs.

A CCA neighborhood and board meeting is held every second Monday of the month at St. Matthew UCC (corner of South Carrollton and Willow) at 6:30 p.m. to conduct the association’s business and to present the opportunity for resident input. Additionally, three topic-oriented CCA Community Forums are organized by the CCA each year featuring city officials, leaders, or experts centering on issues important to the Carrollton Uptown area. Examples include recent a Town Hall meeting with Councilmember Susan Guidry and
a forum on Drainage and Flooding that involved leaders from all major agencies impacting this issue. In addition, an annual holiday meeting is held during the last two weeks of December.

CCA also helps keep you informed by providing communications about things happening throughout New Orleans. such as the Night Out Against Crime, meetings of other neighborhood associations, and local festivals and community events. Updates are posted here, with associated emails being sent directly to members.

Current projects include:
•Crime and public safety monitoring
•Code enforcement and removal of blight and nuisance
•Establishing a block captain program to organize a larger neighborhood watch program
•Tree planting on neighborhood rights of way
•Improving the aesthetic qualities of both neighborhood cemeteries
•Working with the New Orleans Public Library to beautify the surroundings of the Nix Library

To improve communications between members, CCA has set up a Facebook page. It may be accessed from the link below. Use it to post questions, answers and other comments about life in Carrollton.
